Sam Lemheney
Show Designer of the Philadelphia International Flower Show
Sam Lemheney made his debut as Show Designer
for the Philadelphia International Flower Show in 2005 after working closely with
Ed Lindemann (Show Designer from 1980 to 2004), who handed over the reins
designing the largest indoor flower Show in the world.
Sam's life long association with horticulture began with his father
and grandfather, both of whom owned and operated flower shops in
the region. He began his career at the Walt Disney World® Co.
as an intern at the Land Horticulture Science Program in 1989, received
a B.S. in Plant Science from the University of Delaware in 1991
and began his full time career at Disney in June of that year, eventually
becoming the Area Manager of the Epcot International Flower &
Garden Festival. Managing the combined talents and energy of the
entire Disney's Horticulture staff, Sam organized and coordinated
the transformation of the award-winning gardens of Epcot into one
of the most exciting flower & garden events in the country.
The Festival is a six-week celebration of gardens and gardening
including special displays, Disney character topiary and a wide
variety of horticulture programs.
Sam is responsible for designing the 2006 Show
Enchanted Spring
A Tribute To Mother Nature, while coordinating
a floor plan for more than 50 full-scale landscape, floral, artistic
and educational displays and 3,000 individual amateur plant entries.
